What is the purity of Oxytocin?
Oxytocin is supplied at a HPLC-tested purity of 99%+ (HPLC, third-party tested). Each batch is independently analysed and a Certificate of Analysis (COA) is available on request.
How should this product be stored?
Store the lyophilized vial refrigerated at 2–8 °C and protected from light. After reconstitution, keep refrigerated and use within 2–4 weeks. For long-term storage of unreconstituted vials, -20 °C is recommended.
Is a Certificate of Analysis (COA) available?
Yes. A batch-specific third-party COA (HPLC purity, mass spectrometry) is available for every lot. Send us the batch number on your vial and we email the COA the same working day.
How is shipping within the EU handled?
We ship discreetly from the Netherlands with PostNL / MyParcel. Free shipping on orders over €250. Most EU destinations arrive within 2–5 working days with track & trace.

Research Overview
Oxytocin is an endogenous cyclic nonapeptide hormone synthesized in the paraventricular and supraoptic nuclei of the hypothalamus and released from the posterior pituitary. Its sequence is Cys-Tyr-Ile-Gln-Asn-Cys-Pro-Leu-Gly-NH2, with a disulfide bridge between Cys1 and Cys6 (molecular formula C43H66N12O12S2, molecular weight 1007.2 g/mol, CAS 50-56-6). It is studied as the native ligand of the oxytocin receptor (OXTR), a G-protein-coupled receptor, and is widely used in neuroendocrine research to investigate central signaling pathways involved in social recognition, stress-axis regulation and smooth-muscle contraction models.
Primary Research Areas
Oxytocin receptor (OXTR) pharmacology and G-protein signaling studies
Central nervous system pathways in social-behavior and social-recognition research
Hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis and stress-response models
Smooth-muscle (myometrial) contraction models in vitro
For Research Use Only
This product is intended solely for in-vitro research and laboratory use. Not intended for human consumption, diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.
